What is ryo katadori
Ryo katadori is a two shoulder grab. The word kata means arm or hand in Japanese. The word dori means grab. The word ryo means two. Thus, it is a grab of the two arms, or in this case shoulders. Ryo katadori is generally done in gyaku hanmi to protect against a kick to the pubis. Different schools put different emphases on the way the shoulders are grabbed.
